About the Environmental & Sustainability Specialist Role

Omrania is seeking an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Specialist to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional dedicated to ensuring adherence to environmental commitments and sustainability standards throughout project lifecycles.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Environmental & Sustainability Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing compliance with all approved sustainability commitments, environmental policies, and regulatory requirements across construction activities and the Defects Liability Period. This role involves ensuring that projects meet or exceed established environmental benchmarks, including adherence to LEED Gold and Mostadam Gold certification standards.

• Conduct comprehensive site inspections and audits to verify the rigorous implementation of environmental and sustainability protocols during all construction phases.
• Prepare and maintain detailed compliance documentation, audit reports, and sustainability performance records for regulatory review and project certification.
• Collaborate with the Multi-Disciplinary Design Consultant (MDDC) team to identify, assess, and resolve environmental and sustainability non-conformances.
• Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to communicate environmental requirements, corrective actions, and best practice standards.
• Provide expert guidance on environmental risk mitigation and sustainability optimization throughout the construction program.
• Report on environmental and sustainability performance metrics to project stakeholders and certification bodies.
• Ensure all environmental management plans are executed in accordance with project specifications and applicable legislation.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, complemented by relevant sustainability certifications. A LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C) qualification is required for LEED Gold certification management. Additionally, Mostadam accreditation or demonstrated working knowledge of the Mostadam Rating System D+C Version 2019 is essential.
