Role Overview

BAE SYSTEMS is seeking a Finance Manager - Projects to join the team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves providing financial support for project reporting within the Capability and Training sector of the Training Services Project Team. The Finance Manager will be responsible for preparing project reports, advising on Project Sales and Profit forecasts, and ensuring adherence to Finance Policies. Additionally, the role includes compiling the Project element of the Integrated Business Plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide financial support and direction to bid and project teams within Capability and Training.
• Identify, understand, and thoroughly examine financial and commercial risks through risk reviews.
• Prepare and review CSR / SSRs quarterly in line with FPM and LCM mandates.
• Manage trading plans, challenge estimates to complete, support decision-making processes, and challenge contract performance.
• Create and challenge key IBP assumptions, and execute the IBP process in the project area, including financial modelling of IBP baseline assumptions.
• Liaise with external auditors to facilitate annual audits, ensuring prompt and accurate information provision.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting to mitigate risks and ensure data accuracy.
• Ensure strong financial governance and processes are in place throughout the LCM phases of the project lifecycle.
• Act as a primary interface to bid teams, ensuring all finance deliverables are accurately reported at Bid Status Reviews.
• Continuously improve project accounting processes, implementing best practices and leveraging technology for efficiency gains.
• Champion system and toolset changes in alignment with local and enterprise initiatives.
• Manage, motivate, and develop professional staff, including succession planning and training coordination.

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified accountant with comprehensive knowledge of most Finance function responsibilities.
• Essential experience in project accounting, financial accounting, and some experience in financial planning & reporting and management reporting.
• Good knowledge of current Accounting Standards/Practices and the BAE SYSTEMS Finance Policy Manual (FPM).
• 5-10 years of relevant experience.
