About the Role

UNIMAC - United Maintenance and Contracting Company is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its Finance function in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to leading the daily financial operations and ensuring robust financial governance within a complex, multi-entity, and project-based environment.

Role Purpose and Context

The Financial Controller will serve as the operational backbone of the Finance function, overseeing financial reporting accuracy, IFRS compliance, effective financial controls, and timely month-end close processes. This key leadership position enables the CFO to concentrate on strategic financial planning, investor relations, Board engagement, and other high-level priorities.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Controller will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the finance function's operational activities, including:

• Finance Operations & Month-End Close: Leading month-end and year-end close processes across all business units and entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to agreed timelines. This includes supervising Finance function heads (Treasury, FP&A & Budgeting, Accounting, Financial Controls), reviewing and approving journal entries, reconciliations, and trial balances, and overseeing intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and consolidation eliminations.
• Financial Reporting & IFRS: Leading the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis. Ensuring financial reporting is fully compliant with IFRS and audit-ready, leading the IFRS conversion program, maintaining consistent accounting policies, and overseeing project revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS 15.
• External Audit Management: Acting as the primary day-to-day interface with external auditors, leading audit preparation (schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation, query responses), managing the audit timetable, and ensuring timely completion and sign-off. This also involves tracking and resolving audit findings and keeping the CFO informed of audit progress and significant issues.
• Financial Controls & Process Improvement: Ensuring effective implementation of financial controls, segregation of duties, and approval frameworks. Identifying control weaknesses, implementing practical improvements, and supporting the development and strengthening of the internal controls framework.
• CFO Support & Special Projects: Coordinating Finance inputs for Board presentations, Audit Committee materials, due diligence, and other external reporting. Leading Finance workstreams assigned by the CFO and maintaining visibility over key Finance projects, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.

Key Performance Indicators

Success in this role will be measured by specific operational and compliance achievements, including:

• Completion of month-end close by the 5th working day.
• Submission of reviewed management accounts to the CFO by the 8th working day.
• Delivery of an unqualified external audit opinion on schedule.
• 100% resolution of prior-year audit findings.
• Successful completion of IFRS conversion by Q4 2026.
• Zero unresolved material Finance control breaches.
• 100% delivery of CFO-assigned Finance project milestones.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance leader with a proven track record in financial management and reporting. Requirements include:

• Over 10 years of experience in a relevant financial leadership role.
• Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly with IFRS.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi-entity, and project-based financial environments.
• Ability to lead day-to-day finance operations and ensure reporting accuracy.
