About the Opportunity

Redfish Solutions is seeking a Fit Out Design Manager to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is critical for leading the design and technical delivery process on fit-out projects from post-award through to construction completion. Candidates must possess over 10 years of experience, with a strict pre-requisite for demonstrable hands-on fit-out contracting experience.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Fit Out Design Manager will ensure that design development, technical coordination, and approved deliverables are fully aligned with the project programme, procurement strategy, construction sequencing, and handover requirements. This position serves as the primary technical interface between the Contractor, Client, PMC, Operator, Designers, Authorities, and internal project teams, driving the resolution of design gaps, finalisation of design intent, and the timely release of coordinated information to support construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical representative and point of contact with all external and internal project stakeholders.
• Lead technical workshops to resolve outstanding design gaps, assumptions, and interfaces, securing final design sign-off and agreement on design intent.
• Manage all post-award design development and engineering processes, including reviewing tender design documentation for gaps and coordination issues.
• Ensure comprehensive multidisciplinary coordination across architectural, interior design, MEP, structural, and specialist systems.
• Lead the technical team throughout the engineering lifecycle, overseeing shop drawings, technical submissions, material submissions, samples, mock-ups, and coordination drawings.
• Develop, implement, and manage drawing, material, and sample registers, along with technical submittal schedules and approval matrices.
• Support the procurement process through technical evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with standards and coordinating long-lead items.
• Provide ongoing technical support during construction, leading the resolution of RFIs and site technical issues.
• Establish and manage the project mock-up strategy, leading reviews and approvals to set benchmark standards for construction delivery.
• Ensure technical deliverables align with construction milestones and sectional handover requirements, supporting programme recovery and assessing variations.
• Approve internal technical submissions, recommend design solutions, and provide recommendations for subcontractor and supplier technical acceptance.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in design management and technical delivery within the construction industry.
• Mandatory: Direct, hands-on fit-out contracting experience. Candidates whose experience is limited to consultancy, design management, architectural practice, client-side/PMC roles, or other non-contracting environments will not be considered unless they also possess demonstrable fit-out contracting experience.
• Proven ability to lead and manage design and engineering processes from project award through to completion.
• Strong technical coordination skills across diverse disciplines including architectural, interior design, MEP, structural, and specialist systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with clients, consultants, operators, and authorities.
