About the General Accountant Role

NOFA COMPANY is seeking a General Accountant to join its Finance Department in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional who can ensure the integrity of financial records and support informed decision-making through accurate data. The role involves contributing to timely financial reporting in line with approved accounting standards.

Core Accounting Responsibilities

The General Accountant will be responsible for a range of core accounting duties, including:

• Recording daily journal entries and ensuring accurate posting to the general ledger.
• Preparing and reviewing bank reconciliation statements on a regular basis.
• Monitoring accounts receivable and payable, and preparing aging reports.
• Processing expenses and financial claims in accordance with company policies.
• Preparing monthly closing adjustments and reconciliations.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

This role plays a key part in the financial reporting process. Key responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Preparing financial analysis reports, including comparisons of budgeted versus actual figures.
• Providing periodic financial summaries to the Department Head.

Compliance and Tax Duties

Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements is a critical aspect of this position. The General Accountant will:

• Ensure compliance with Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) requirements.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure their accuracy.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide necessary documentation.

Supporting Functions and Record Keeping

The role also encompasses essential supporting duties to maintain efficient financial operations:

• Maintaining and archiving financial documents and records.
• Participating in asset and inventory counts.
• Supporting the Finance team with additional tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this General Accountant position should possess the following:

• Experience ranging from 2 to 5 years in a similar accounting role.
• Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
• Familiarity with ZATCA regulations is essential.
