About the Role

Emdad By Elm is seeking an IBM DataPower Developer to join its Integration & API Platform team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience in IBM DataPower development. The role involves designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining secure integration solution objects on IBM DataPower Gateway appliances.

Role Purpose

The IBM DataPower Developer plays a key role in protecting enterprise services, optimizing message routing, and enforcing security protocols. This position is central to enabling seamless communication across microservices and legacy backend applications within the enterprise architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, construct, test, and deploy Multi-Protocol Gateways (MPGW), Web Service Proxies (WSP), XML Firewall objects, and API Gateways on IBM DataPower appliances.
• Implement robust enterprise security policies using OAuth , OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML , Mutual TLS (mTLS), JWT validation, and WS-Security.
• Create XSLT stylesheets, Gateway Script (****************, and processing policies for complex payload transformations (JSON to XML, SOAP to REST), message enrichment, and dynamic routing.
• Integrate DataPower Gateways with API Management platforms (*, IBM API Connect) and enterprise service buses (ESB/IBM MQ).
• Manage Crypto profiles, SSL/TLS client/server profiles, public key infrastructure (PKI), and automated certificate renewal procedures.
• Monitor appliance CPU, memory, and throughput. Diagnose performance bottlenecks, system errors, and security failures using system logs, trace tools, and DataPower Probe.
• Automate appliance build, versioning, and deployment processes using Git, Jenkins, and Nexus repository managers (alongside DPConfig/DCM frameworks).
• Maintain architectural blueprints, interface control documents (ICDs), and configuration guides adhering to enterprise standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 2-5 years of experience in IBM DataPower development.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical, debugging, and system integration troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with security teams, enterprise architects, and backend software engineering teams.

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves working as part of the Integration & API Platform team at Emdad By Elm.
