About the Role

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority is seeking a dedicated Internal Audit Expert to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to leading audit activities and ensuring robust governance and compliance within the organization.

Role Overview and Objectives

The Internal Audit Expert operates autonomously, leading work activities towards predetermined long-term objectives with minor direction. This role involves overseeing the implementation of operational plans and driving significant improvements in established policies, procedures, standards, and reports. A primary objective is to ensure the timely preparation and execution of corrective action plans and the closure of audit observations. The expert will also review reports and presentations for competent committees and the Board of Directors, enhance communication governance, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and support the integration of audit observations with risk management and internal control to elevate institutional governance and compliance levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and manage all communication channels with audit authorities, including the General Audit Office and External Auditor, coordinating meetings, inquiries, and audit requests to ensure prompt responses and quality outputs.
• Ensure that core control notes are incorporated into corporate risk registers, contributing to the development of internal controls and enhancing compliance and governance across the authority.
• Provide necessary information, analysis, and reports to the Audit Committee, the Board of Directors, and Executive Management to facilitate follow-up on audit observations and enable appropriate action.
• Examine the root causes of repeated observations and propose necessary improvements to internal policies, procedures, and controls.
• Escalate complex problems to the relevant personnel to ensure proper resolution and closure of cases and issues.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in internal audit or a related field.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.
