About NTU International A/S and the Role

NTU International A/S is a leading international consulting company that provides project management and technical advisory services globally. The company works with European Union institutions, international financial institutions, development agencies, and public sector clients across various sectors including energy, climate, infrastructure, economic development, and sustainable investment. We are currently expanding our network of qualified Investment, Finance & Risk Experts to support the EU-MENA Clean Tech Cooperation project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a part-time engagement for experts who may be mobilized on a short-term, on-demand basis during project implementation.

Project Context and Expert Contribution

NTU International is preparing a proposal for the EU-MENA Clean Tech Cooperation project, which aims to mobilize public and private investment in clean energy and clean technology within the EU-MENA cooperation framework. Selected experts will join our pool to provide specialized support, contributing to the financial and investment aspects of clean technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Experts selected for this role may support a range of activities, including:

• Conducting financial and investment analyses of clean energy and clean technology projects.
• Developing financial models and assessing project bankability and commercial viability.
• Identifying investment barriers, financing gaps, and appropriate financial instruments.
• Supporting investment structuring and the mobilization of public and private finance.
• Advising on blended finance, guarantees, risk-sharing mechanisms, and other de-risking instruments.
• Conducting financial, commercial, and investment risk assessments.
• Supporting engagement with investors, financial institutions, development banks, and private sector stakeholders.
• Contributing to investment pipelines, project preparation, and investment promotion activities.
• Preparing financial assessments, investment studies, and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should demonstrate the following:

• A relevant university degree in finance, economics, business administration, investment, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven professional experience of 5-10 years in energy or infrastructure finance, investment analysis, project finance, and/or risk assessment.
• Experience with renewable energy, clean technology, or climate-related investments.
• Familiarity with blended finance, sustainable finance, and private capital mobilization is highly desirable.
• Experience with International Financial Institutions (IFIs), development finance institutions, EU-funded programmes, or other donor-funded initiatives is advantageous.
• Professional experience in the MENA region is considered a strong asset.

Language Requirements

• Excellent command of English is required.
• Knowledge of French and/or Arabic will be considered a strong asset.
