Role Overview: Kubernetes Engineer

This full-time position is for a Kubernetes Engineer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters across both production and non-production environments. A key focus is ensuring high availability, security, and scalability for containerized workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters.
• Manage Kubernetes resources including Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, Namespaces, and Persistent Volumes.
• Implement container orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker/container runtimes.
• Monitor cluster health, performance, availability, and resource utilization.
• Configure RBAC, network policies, security controls, and secrets management.
• Manage cluster upgrades, patching, scaling, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
• Troubleshoot application, networking, storage, and cluster-level issues.
• Implement High Availability (HA) and scalability solutions for Kubernetes workloads.
• Integrate Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and other DevOps tools.
• Automate infrastructure and deployments using tools such as Helm, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Work with cloud Kubernetes platforms including OpenShift, AKS, EKS, or GKE as required.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: 3–7+ years in infrastructure/DevOps with significant hands-on Kubernetes experience.
• Kubernetes Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes administration and architecture.
• Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of Linux, Docker/containers, networking, storage, and virtualization.
• Tooling: Experience with Helm and Kubernetes YAML manifests.
• Security & Troubleshooting: Knowledge of Kubernetes security, RBAC, networking, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Nationality: Saudi Nationality is required for this position.

Desirable Skills and Certifications

• Experience with monitoring and logging platforms such as Prometheus/Grafana or ELK stack.
• Knowledge of CI/CD principles and DevOps practices.
• Relevant Kubernetes certifications, such as CKA or CKAD.
