About the Role

WETICO, a part of Abunayyan Holding, is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to join its Engineering team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading civil and structural engineering activities across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in project execution from tender preparation through completion.

Role Overview

The Lead Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and guiding civil and structural engineering efforts within the team. This position focuses on critical infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, desalination, industrial water, pumping stations, and reservoirs. A key aspect of the role is to ensure engineering excellence and compliance throughout the project lifecycle, particularly within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural engineering design for EPC water and wastewater projects.
• Review conceptual, FEED (Front-End Engineering Design), basic, and detailed engineering packages.
• Lead engineering activities from tender preparation through project execution.
• Review civil calculations, reports, drawings, shop drawings, and vendor drawings.
• Coordinate effectively with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and BIM teams.
• Support construction activities and resolve technical and engineering issues as they arise.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project-specific requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8–12 years of progressive civil/structural engineering experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading engineering teams.
• Extensive experience specifically within EPC projects.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of concrete and steel design principles and applications.
• Proven experience in design review and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience working effectively with Saudi clients and international consultants.
• Knowledge of constructability and value engineering practices.
• Familiarity with Saudi regulations and local authority requirements.

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role demands close collaboration with various engineering disciplines and active participation throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the successful and compliant delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
