VaporVM is seeking a skilled Security Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to maintaining robust security operations within a dynamic production environment, focusing on critical infrastructure protection.

The Role of Security Engineer

The Security Engineer will primarily manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and mitigate Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. This role requires strong hands-on experience with NETSCOUT Arbor and other DDoS protection solutions to ensure continuous availability and security in a 24/7 operational setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot NETSCOUT Arbor solutions.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic for potential DDoS attacks.
• Implement DDoS detection and mitigation policies, filters, and protection profiles.
• Perform detailed traffic analysis and troubleshoot complex security incidents.
• Work with BGP, FlowSpec, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and network routing protocols.
• Coordinate effectively with SOC, NOC, network, cybersecurity, and vendor teams during incident response.
• Perform regular health checks, configuration optimization, and capacity monitoring of security systems.
• Prepare comprehensive incident reports, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documents, and other technical documentation.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support when required to address critical security issues.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant security engineering role. Essential technical expertise includes a strong understanding and practical application of:

• NETSCOUT Arbor solutions and comprehensive DDoS protection strategies.
• Core networking protocols such as BGP, FlowSpec, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS.
• Network routing principles and configurations.

Preferred Background

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience gained within an ISP, Telecom, Data Center, or large enterprise environment. This background is valuable for understanding the scale and complexity of network security challenges in high-demand settings.

Work Environment and Support

This role operates within a demanding 24/7 production environment, requiring vigilance and responsiveness. The Security Engineer will be expected to provide on-call support as needed to address critical incidents promptly and ensure continuous service availability.
