About the Role

The Arab Energy Fund is seeking a Senior Manager Accounting Reporting & Controls to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is critical for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of the Fund’s financial accounting and reporting, aligning with IFRS, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial accounting and reporting through effective application of IFRS, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical accounting expertise and guidance on complex financial transactions, accounting estimates, and emerging IFRS requirements.
Oversee statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting to the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
Establish and maintain a robust financial control environment, including central financial controls, business-level controls, and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
Oversee the application of IFRS and accounting policies for accurate and consistent recognition, measurement, and presentation of financial transactions.
Review significant accounting estimates, judgments, provisions, and adjustments for compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda, position papers, and assessments of new or amended accounting standards.
Oversee the integrity of accounting records, general ledger balances, and financial closing processes.
Coordinate with stakeholders and external auditors to resolve accounting issues and ensure consistent policy application.
Lead the preparation and review of interim and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and statutory requirements.
Manage external audit activities, including deliverables, technical discussions, and timely resolution of findings.
Develop, implement, and maintain an effective financial control framework covering Finance activities, business processes, and financial reporting.
Oversee key financial controls such as general ledger reconciliations, journal approvals, account ownership, segregation of duties, and financial closing controls.
Lead the development and implementation of the ICFR framework, including risk and control matrices and control documentation.
Monitor control deficiencies, reconciliation exceptions, and audit observations, ensuring timely remediation.
Develop, maintain, and periodically review accounting policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of accounting, reporting, and control processes.
Act as a key technical accounting and financial control adviser to internal stakeholders.
Manage and develop team capabilities through coaching, knowledge sharing, and performance management.
Support the Financial Controller in delivering departmental objectives and strengthening financial governance.

Qualifications and Experience

5-10 years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, or investment institutions.
Demonstrated expertise in IFRS and financial reporting.
Proven experience in establishing and maintaining financial control environments.

Required Skills

Strong technical accounting knowledge.
Ability to provide guidance on complex financial transactions.
Excellent coordination and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Leadership and team development capabilities.
