The Role of Service Advisor

The Service Advisor is responsible for welcoming customers, identifying their vehicle service needs, and effectively selling and upselling required services. This role involves confirming service requirements, obtaining necessary approvals, and monitoring the service process to ensure timely completion. The objective is to enhance customer satisfaction and contribute to increased sales revenues and profits, adhering to AJVA’s established policies and procedures.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations related to the role to ensure work continuity.
• Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and practices.
• Assist in preparing timely and accurate service sales reports in accordance with company standards.
• Receive, greet, and engage with customers to understand their service concerns and identify needs.
• Inform customers of identified service requirements and secure their confirmation.
• Provide cost and completion time estimates for vehicle services, explain them to customers, and obtain approval.
• Prepare job cards for vehicles, secure approvals, and direct technicians to commence service.
• Liaise and follow up with technicians on vehicle service status, ensuring timely completion as agreed.
• Coordinate technician activities to ensure service work is performed correctly on the first attempt.
• Inspect all completed service works for proper execution and pricing accuracy.
• Maintain and update the service tracking sheet, informing customers of their vehicle's status and readiness for pick-up.
• Identify repeat customers, prioritize their service, and notify the service manager for appropriate handling.
• Effectively sell appropriate services to ensure customer satisfaction, increase sales, and minimize complaints.
• Proactively upsell and promote additional critical services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase revenues.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Service Advisor position should hold a high school diploma, with a technical diploma being preferred. A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role is required.
