About the Role of Traffic Engineer

Saudi Arabian Trading and Construction Company (SATCO) is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring safe and efficient movement across project sites, integrating physical security with construction logistics. The role requires a professional with significant experience in traffic management within complex environments.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to plan and control the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians. This includes the critical task of integrating physical security requirements with construction logistics throughout the project site to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update comprehensive plans for traffic management, access control, parking, deliveries, emergency routes, and security zones.
• Assess dynamic work fronts and implement necessary adjustments such as one-way systems, crossings, banksmen, signage, barriers, lighting, speed controls, and exclusion zones.
• Coordinate gate capacity, manage delivery bookings, issue vehicle permits, control workforce access, oversee visitor entry, and authorize restricted-area access.
• Conduct regular inspections of roads, gates, fencing, guard posts, CCTV coverage, signage, pedestrian routes, and emergency access points.
• Investigate traffic incidents, security breaches, unauthorized access, congestion, and near misses, subsequently recommending corrective actions.
• Coordinate activities involving abnormal loads, cranes, concrete deliveries, road closures, diversions, and other high-traffic operations.
• Brief security and logistics teams on daily priorities and verify the deployment of guards and marshals.
• Maintain accurate records, drawings, risk assessments, statistics, and client reports related to traffic and security.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex traffic and logistics operations within large-scale projects.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a dynamic project environment, requiring close coordination with various teams and stakeholders.
