About Webook and the Role

Webook (******** is seeking a Usability Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. This full-time role focuses on enhancing user experience by applying expertise in human factors, cognitive psychology, and behavioral UX. The position requires 2-4 years of experience in usability engineering or a related field.

Role Overview

The Usability Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the usability and accessibility of products through comprehensive testing and evaluation. This involves hands-on experience with various usability testing methods, accessibility audits, and heuristic evaluations. A key aspect of the role is translating research findings into actionable design improvements. Candidates with NN/g or HFI certifications are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and analyze formative and summative usability studies, including moderated and unmoderated tests.
• Perform heuristic evaluations, cognitive walkthroughs, and accessibility assessments.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and product managers to improve user experience based on research findings.
• Create and maintain usability testing protocols, documentation, and research repositories.
• Define and measure usability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as task success rate, error rate, and time on task.
• Advocate for evidence-based design decisions and usability best practices across teams.
• Support the development of design systems and product guidelines with usability input.
• Help train and mentor cross-functional teams on usability principles and tools.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in usability engineering, UX research, or a similar role.
• Strong foundation in usability principles and testing methodologies.

Essential Skills and Tools

• Experience with usability testing tools such as UserTesting, Lookback, Maze, Hotjar, or Optimal Workshop.
• Familiarity with design tools including Figma, Axure, or Adobe XD.
• Strong statistical and analytical skills for interpreting test results.
• Experience documenting research and presenting findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of WCAG accessibility guidelines and inclusive design principles.
