About the Role

alfanar is seeking a skilled ARCHITECT, DATA to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on designing and governing the enterprise data architecture to ensure data is structured, integrated, secure, and of high quality. The role is critical in supporting business operations, analytics, and regulatory compliance.

Data Architecture Design and Governance

The Data Architect will be responsible for designing and maintaining the enterprise data architecture across the organization. This includes developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business and technical requirements. Key activities involve defining data standards, architecture principles, and integration patterns to ensure a cohesive and effective data landscape.

Data Integration, Quality, and Management

This role involves designing and overseeing data integration solutions across multiple systems and platforms. Responsibilities include defining ETL/ELT processes to ensure reliable data flow and addressing issues related to data redundancy, inconsistency, and fragmentation. Furthermore, the Data Architect will establish and enforce data quality standards and controls, contributing to robust data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures. Proper metadata management and data lineage tracking are also essential components of this area.

Security and Compliance Support

Collaboration with cybersecurity and privacy teams is crucial to ensure the data architecture is secure. The Data Architect will support compliance with data protection regulations, such as PDPL and GDPR where applicable, and implement data classification and access control standards to safeguard sensitive information.

Technology Evaluation and Optimization

The role requires evaluating and recommending data architecture tools, technologies, and platforms. Support for database design, encompassing both relational and non-relational systems, is expected. A key objective is to optimize data systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring they meet evolving business needs.

Role Accountabilities and Delivery

The Data Architect is expected to perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets within delivery schedules, utilizing resources effectively for efficient cost and time management. This includes providing periodic reports detailing deviations and the execution of planned tasks. The role also requires problem-solving capabilities, escalating complex operational issues when necessary, and ensuring quality requirements are met through effective control processes. Coordination of well-defined systems, policies, and procedures, alongside seeking automation opportunities, is also a key accountability. Compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and work instructions, as well as ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental management procedures, are integral to the role.
