Commercial Financial Controller

About the Role

alfanar is seeking a Commercial Financial Controller to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves overseeing and contributing to factory financial planning, budgeting, cost management, and reporting. The Commercial Financial Controller will play a key role in supporting profitability and operational performance through accurate cost allocation, efficient resource utilization, and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage budgets, accounts, and financial operations across production units for internal reporting and external regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate annual and long-term operating and capital budgets in line with factory production plans and resource optimization.
• Oversee product costing and bills of materials, and analyze cost variances with production and procurement teams.
• Ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Set and monitor cost-center allocations, overhead distribution, and internal transfer pricing.
• Manage fixed-asset records, asset tagging, depreciation, and capital expenditure tracking across factory operations.
• Classify capital and operating expenses correctly and apply depreciation methods appropriate to asset types and usage.
• Analyze production capacity, demand trends, and material costs for forecasts; assess profitability and budget variances.
• Monitor production cost efficiency against budgets and KPIs, identify deviations, and recommend corrective measures and savings.
• Prepare factory financial and management reports covering costs, inventory movement, and production efficiency.
• Ensure accounting-standard and internal-control compliance; supervise year-end closing, final accounts, and variance reports.

• Develop and monitor business plans that translate corporate goals into operational results, and provide periodic progress reports.
• Develop organizational structures and ensure job descriptions are available for roles and deployment.
• Develop written systems, policies, and procedures and seek automation opportunities; support effective use of relevant IT solutions.
• Promote quality, adapt to new techniques and technologies, and ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
• Lead and develop staff, assess performance fairly, delegate according to company policy, anticipate problems, and make timely decisions.
• Deliver results on time and to required quality and cost, and make a tangible difference to the area of operation.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in financial control, particularly within a manufacturing or factory environment. A strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, cost management, and reporting is essential.
