About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Commi I to join its culinary team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves a variety of culinary tasks essential for high-quality food preparation and ensuring guest satisfaction. Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in a professional kitchen environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist management with tasks including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model.
• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
• Communicate with others using clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships, supporting the team to achieve common goals, and responding to employee concerns.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Culinary Duties

• Prepare special meals or substitute items as needed.
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Manage food thawing processes by pulling items from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of food.
• Maintain food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
• Communicate assistance needed during busy periods.
• Inform the Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials.
• Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock menu items.
• Ensure the quality of all food items.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and the food preparation checklist.
• Prepare cold food items.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
