About the Role

W Hotels is seeking a dedicated Commis 2 to join its culinary team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for preparing and cooking food to high standards, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and contributing to a positive team environment. Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a similar culinary role.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food items.
• Wash, peel, weigh, measure, and mix fresh fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients.
• Cook food according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Prepare cold food items as required.
• Operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality during preparation.
• Set up and efficiently break down the workstation.
• Serve food in proper portions using appropriate receptacles.

Operational Standards and Compliance

• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment thoroughly.
• Check and ensure the correctness of appliance and food temperatures.
• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Protect company assets and maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.

Team Collaboration and Professionalism

• Communicate professionally and clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships within the team.
• Support team members to achieve common goals and respond appropriately to concerns.
• Ensure consistent adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Physical Demands of the Position

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
