About the Role

Acwa is seeking a Commissioning Electrical Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves supporting and executing project electrical commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to Acwa Power Commissioning Standards and best practices. The role is crucial for the safe, reliable, and efficient commissioning of electrical systems, demonstrating full operational readiness in accordance with Operational Technical Standards (OTS).

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing Electrical commissioning procedures and test plans submitted by the EPC Contractor.
• Participating in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for various electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protection systems, cables, UPS, battery chargers, and auxiliary systems.
• Executing functional testing, loop checks, and troubleshooting under the direction of the Senior Electrical Commissioning Manager.
• Conducting inspections and pre-commissioning checks to verify compliance with design specifications and relevant codes.
• Recording test results and preparing comprehensive commissioning reports for acceptance.
• Coordinating with design, construction, I&C, mechanical, and DCS teams to resolve technical issues effectively.
• Liaising with vendors and manufacturers during testing and troubleshooting phases.
• Supporting the review of project documentation, including test reports, as-built drawings, and commissioning records.
• Ensuring strict compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations throughout all activities.
• Implementing and enforcing safety measures during electrical energization, testing, and commissioning.
• Participating actively in safety audits and risk assessments.
• Collaborating closely with the Senior Electrical Commissioning Manager and other commissioning team members.
• Sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration with peers across different commissioning disciplines.
• Providing support to junior engineers and technicians in their daily commissioning tasks as delegated.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in the Power and/or Water industry.
• At least 5 years of this experience must be specifically in Electrical commissioning roles on large-scale projects.
• Experience on the EPC side of commissioning or OEM testing is preferred.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires close collaboration with various project teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of commissioning activities.
