About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking a Consultant, Headache to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions related to headaches, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.

Clinical Responsibilities

The Consultant, Headache will provide high-quality patient care in all aspects of headache management, in line with approved clinical privileges. This includes offering timely consultations for inpatients and emergency room cases, and ensuring the accurate and legible completion of medical records. The role also requires participation in on-call services, with adherence to response time policies, and conducting daily rounds to facilitate patient transfers and discharges. Any other clinical duties assigned within the specialty will also be undertaken.

Academic and Research Contributions

This position involves academic responsibilities such as providing orientation, bedside training, and supervision to junior staff. Participation in departmental educational activities, training programs, and national/international medical conferences is expected. Maintaining and enhancing professional knowledge through continuing education is also a key aspect. Furthermore, the role requires participation in clinical, basic, and translational research projects to advance knowledge and contribute to the hospital's recognition.

Administrative Duties

Administrative duties assigned by the Head of Section or Chairman will be part of this role. This includes participating in mandatory departmental activities and serving on departmental and hospital committees as required. The consultant will also assist the department in developing and implementing techniques to optimize resource utilization. Adherence to current hospital and medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations is essential, with an expectation to stay updated on any changes.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must have graduated from an accredited medical school and completed the required training in the specialty and/or subspecialty. Board certification (Arab or American) or equivalent membership/fellowship status in the United Kingdom and/or Canada is required. The total training and postgraduate experience in the subspecialty must be equal to or exceed seven (7) years.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience.
