About the Role

The Consultant - Internal Medicine & Adult Endocrinology at Bupa Arabia in Riyadh is responsible for delivering comprehensive medical care to adult patients. This full-time position involves providing expert clinical care for internal medicine and endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal diseases, and metabolic syndromes. The role emphasizes population health management and value-based care to optimize patient outcomes through efficient healthcare delivery.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and accurate diagnoses of endocrine disorders and general internal medicine complaints, utilizing detailed patient histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tools such as blood tests and imaging studies.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication prescription, ongoing patient education, and adjustments based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes.
• Deliver high-quality medical consultations to patients in both physical and telemedicine settings, overseeing ongoing care for chronic and acute conditions.
• Practice population health management by identifying and addressing health issues at the community level, implementing preventive measures, and promoting health education and awareness.

Clinical Quality and Patient Safety

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe clinical care in endocrinology, adhering to established clinical guidelines and best practices.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, including audits and peer reviews, and implement safety protocols to minimize risks and complications associated with treatments.
• Maintain compliance with all patient safety standards, report any patient safety risks or issues, and practice safe medicine to prevent patient harm.
• Ensure satisfactory patient consultations through effective communication, thorough history taking, empathy, clear explanation of diagnosis, and proposed management plans.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Foster effective collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including primary care physicians, specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals.
• Engage in regular case discussions and attend departmental meetings to contribute to the development of clinical pathways and treatment protocols.
• Facilitate appropriate referrals to and from other specialties based on patient needs and complex cases.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff for the evaluation and interpretation of biochemical results relevant to endocrine disorders.
