About the Role

National Medical Care Company (Care) is seeking a Consultant Orthopedic Surgery to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and involves providing comprehensive orthopedic care to patients, both inpatient and outpatient, while upholding high professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care within the scope of clinical privileges for both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Adhere to professional medical ethics, CBAHI/JCIA standards, hospital by-laws, and Ministry of Health regulations.
  • Conduct regular ward rounds independently or as part of a team to formulate multidisciplinary treatment plans, including pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures relevant to the orthopedic specialty.
  • Assess and refer patients to appropriate medical facilities and accept referrals for orthopedic problems.
  • Participate in the departmental on-call rota for patient care and admissions, responding to emergencies as required.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and legible medical records for all patients, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.
  • Supervise assigned junior staff, including Senior Registrars, Registrars, Residents, Nurses, and other paramedical staff.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives within the department, focusing on clinical and non-clinical processes.
  • Actively participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) through hospital activities and national/international conferences.
  • Engage in training programs for junior medical staff and in-service training for nursing staff and technicians.
  • Continuously update medical knowledge and upgrade professional skills in the orthopedic field.
  • Participate in assigned committee meetings, such as Quality Improvement and Infection Control.
  • Educate patients and families on their medical needs, involving them in the plan of care and respecting their choices.

Reporting Structure

The Consultant Orthopedic Surgery reports directly to the Head, Department of Orthopedic. This role involves leadership responsibilities, including the supervision of junior medical and paramedical staff.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a high level of professional performance.
  • Ability to practice within clinically relevant and scientifically valid standards, guidelines, and criteria.
  • Strong leadership skills for departmental performance and quality improvement.
  • Commitment to continuous medical education and professional development.

Work Environment
