Data Center Facility Engineer (Controls) AWS

About the Role

Data Services Saudi Arabia Limited One Person Company is seeking a Data Center Facility Engineer (Controls) for its AWS operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation within AWS data centers. The position is critical for maintaining the availability of technical infrastructure and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to and promote the highest safety standards, fostering a world-class safety culture.
• Address and remediate safety risks and issues in collaboration with other teams.
• Lead safety initiatives and projects to strengthen safety culture.
• Support and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS systems, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, VFDs, and Transformers.
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, emergency generator, HVAC, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events in accordance with internal SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis for equipment failures.
• Drive innovation to reduce operational costs within facilities.

Daily Operations

• Work rotational shifts consisting of 4 days of 12-hour shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights), with 4 days off. This includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Respond to on-call rotations for off-duty emergency calls.
• Conduct routine rounds and log operational readings (temperatures, voltages, currents) for all mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Oversee contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Perform tasks that may include occasionally moving objects/material (within regulatory weight limits), working in outdoor weather conditions, noisy environments, and at heights or from ladders.
