The Internship Opportunity

Lakeora is seeking a Databricks Engineer Intern for a 6-month program in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This internship provides hands-on experience with client data pipelines and Lakehouse architecture, working alongside the delivery team on live engagements. Interns contribute to actual pipeline builds and gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a Databricks consulting engagement. The program includes a structured learning path aimed at achieving the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of data pipelines using Spark (PySpark and SQL) on Databricks.
• Assist with implementing Lakehouse and Medallion architecture patterns under senior engineer guidance.
• Help with data ingestion, transformation, and quality checks on client and internal projects.
• Support testing, debugging, and documentation of pipeline code.
• Participate in code reviews and learn version control (Git) and Agile delivery practices.
• Assist in preparing materials for client demos and technical discovery sessions.
• Follow a structured learning path covering core Databricks concepts: Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Lakeflow Jobs.
• Prepare for and sit the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate exam before the internship concludes.
• Take on small, well-scoped engineering tasks with increasing independence over the 6-month period.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Interest in data engineering, Spark, and Databricks technologies.
• Curiosity and a direct approach to problem-solving.
