About the Role

Qiddiya is seeking a Director of Sports Medicine Development and Activation to provide strategic leadership for the development of QHC's sports medicine portfolio. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involves shaping the service model and operating concept across clinical care, rehabilitation, athlete health, performance, research, and innovation. The Director ensures the program aligns with QHC's mandate, clinical standards, and long-term strategic ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of QHC's sports medicine strategy and translate it into an integrated portfolio of services, defining priorities, outcomes, investment, and delivery sequencing.
  • Define and maintain the sports medicine service model and operating concept, including scope, target populations, service pathways, and governance principles.
  • Oversee the development and refinement of the sports medicine program, converting strategy into approved service specifications, business priorities, and implementation plans.
  • Lead the development of an integrated clinical, rehabilitation, athlete-health, and performance service portfolio, defining scope, referral criteria, and standards of care.
  • Provide strategic oversight of multidisciplinary service and pathway design, integrating various specialist disciplines for coordinated, evidence-based care.
  • Establish clinical and performance standards, outcome measures, and governance requirements for prevention, treatment, and return-to-sport.
  • Establish the governance structure for the sports medicine program, defining workstreams, decision rights, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage the integrated program plan and executive dashboard, coordinating scope, budgets, resources, and implementation priorities.
  • Provide executive assurance on program progress, financial requirements, risks, and delivery performance, preparing recommendations for corporate and executive decisions.
  • Define clinical, operational, facility, workforce, technology, and mobilization requirements for sports medicine partners.
  • Develop and validate technical and service requirements for scopes of work, RFPs, and service levels in coordination with relevant functions.
  • Coordinate the operational integration of appointed partners into the sports medicine program.
  • Manage the sports medicine design file from concept through detailed design and operational sign-off.
  • Define and coordinate clinical, rehabilitation, performance, digital, and equipment requirements for service enablement.
  • Oversee sports medicine workforce planning and mobilization, including organizational structure, staffing, recruitment, and training.
  • Direct the phased implementation and mobilization of the sports medicine program, translating designs into activation schedules and resource plans.
  • Establish service-activation criteria and oversee multidisciplinary assurance activities.
  • Lead service activation and early operational stabilization, coordinating issue resolution and monitoring initial performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • An advanced degree in Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy, Sports Science, Rehabilitation, Healthcare Management, or a related healthcare, clinical, or performance discipline is preferred. A Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Relevant clinical or sports-performance qualifications are advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience of 10+ years in service-model design, capability definition, operating requirements, and multidisciplinary sports-medicine environments.
  • Experience within internationally recognized sports-medicine or academic medical centers, and within partnership or joint-venture models, is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of international sports-medicine best practice, athlete-health pathways, and performance science.
  • Understanding of the Saudi healthcare and sports context and Vision 2030 ambitions.

Work Environment

The Director of Sports Medicine Development and Activation will work across executive, clinical, and corporate leadership, integrating multidisciplinary workstreams and representing sports medicine in internal and external forums. The role involves guiding executive decision-making and ensuring alignment with approved strategies and service objectives.
