About the Role

AECOM Saudi Arabia is seeking a Document Control Manager to join a major rail project team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves establishing and managing comprehensive document control procedures and systems to ensure all project documentation adheres to required standards and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement document control procedures, workflows, and standards specific to the rail project.
  • Manage the receipt, registration, numbering, distribution, tracking, and filing of all project documents.
  • Administer Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) such as Aconex, SharePoint, or Autodesk Construction Cloud, including user access and security.
  • Oversee engineering, design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover documentation.
  • Coordinate the review and approval workflows for drawings, specifications, technical submittals, and reports.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly document control reports and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure compliance with client, contractual, ISO 9001, and company document management standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives regarding documentation requirements.
  • Manage the preparation and compilation of project handover documentation, including as-built drawings and operation manuals.
  • Lead and supervise Document Controllers and Records Management personnel, allocating workloads and monitoring performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in document control.
  • At least 10 years in a managerial role on major rail, metro, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in administering Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).

Project Context

This role is integral to a significant rail infrastructure project, requiring a manager capable of handling complex documentation processes and ensuring adherence to stringent project and industry standards. The position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Leadership and Development

The Document Control Manager will be responsible for developing document control training programs, promoting best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the document management processes. This includes supporting internal and external audits related to document control.
