About the Role

Alfanar Projects is seeking an Engineer Testing for the Central Region, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is integral to ensuring the operational readiness of power plants and substations, involving comprehensive testing and commissioning activities prior to their live phase.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct functional testing according to specified schemes and coordinate activities during customer inspections.
• Execute site testing and commissioning activities for power plants and substations.
• Perform testing and commissioning of substation equipment, including various types of relays, switchgear, and transformers.
• Resolve technical issues encountered during power plant testing and site commissioning.
• Provide technical support by reviewing design documents before their release.

Documentation and Quality Assurance

• Prepare comprehensive project and new equipment test reports, including updates and corrections.
• Ensure thorough documentation of non-conformances and troubleshooting efforts.
• Initiate continuous improvement and maintain records in consultation with the department manager.
• Initiate corrective and preventive actions, maintaining records in consultation with the department manager.

Leadership and Operational Oversight

• Train, lead, coach, and provide direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
• Delegate assignments effectively and ensure fair distribution of tasks to maintain team morale and motivation.
• Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
• Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
• Resolve operational problems and escalate complex issues as necessary.
• Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities where possible.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this full-time position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in testing and commissioning within power plants or substations.

Safety and Compliance

The role requires strict adherence to all safety procedures during testing and commissioning activities. The Engineer Testing must also comply with all related company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
