About Marid and the Opportunity

Marid is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the execution of its engineering roadmap in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position within a company developing an AI-powered open banking credit card analysis platform for the GCC region. Marid operates at the forefront of Saudi Arabia's evolving open banking landscape, aligning with SAMA's Open Banking Framework and Vision 2030's financial sector transformation agenda.

The Engineering Manager Role

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the engineering team's day-to-day delivery and managing technology vendor relationships. This role involves ensuring technical priorities are translated into shipped, working software. The Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with Marid's leadership on strategic direction and oversee its implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Own the day-to-day execution of the engineering team, ensuring delivery against scope, timelines, and quality standards.
Manage technology vendor relationships, holding partners accountable for deliverables and resolving issues promptly.
Translate Marid's technical roadmap into clear sprint plans, delivery milestones, and execution priorities.
Establish and manage code review, QA, and documentation processes to maintain consistent engineering quality.
Identify delivery and technical risks early and drive them to resolution before they impact the roadmap.
Contribute to building Marid's permanent engineering team by defining roles, assessing candidates, and shaping the hiring plan during scaling.
Serve as the primary contact for internal stakeholders regarding delivery status, blockers, and upcoming shipments.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant professional experience. The ideal candidate takes genuine ownership of building and shipping products. This role requires the ability to effectively run a team, rigorously manage vendor relationships, and ensure roadmap progression by translating priorities into actionable steps.

Demonstrated ability to critically review code and technical output.
Comfortable engaging in stakeholder conversations and participating in sprint planning sessions.

Marid is positioned at the center of a shift in how financial data is accessed, understood, and utilized across the GCC. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for translating strategic vision into shipped products, working alongside leadership to define the technical direction for a platform that introduces new capabilities to the region. This platform provides consumers and financial institutions with deeper visibility into credit card usage, spending behavior, and financial health, leveraging open banking data and advanced analytics.
