The Role of Estimating Director

Mace is seeking an Estimating Director who is a Saudi National to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves leading estimating functions for major capital projects, including a large multipurpose venue in Riyadh designed for sports, entertainment, and community events. The role focuses on ensuring excellence in project delivery and continuous improvement within the estimating domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage estimating teams, providing leadership, performance management, coaching, and technical development.
• Conduct peer reviews of cost estimates to ensure robust governance, accuracy, and effective risk management.
• Build and maintain internal and external networks to enhance estimating capabilities and integrate market insights.
• Present project estimates to key stakeholders, demonstrating comprehensive understanding of project scope, costs, risks, and assumptions.
• Influence strategic business development initiatives and support the execution of work-winning strategies.
• Manage and present benchmarking data to strengthen bid submissions and support informed decision-making.
• Provide thought leadership through market intelligence, benchmarking, pricing trends analysis, and knowledge of prevailing market rates.
• Lead systematic performance improvement initiatives while supporting net zero carbon objectives through proactive identification, management, and reduction of carbon emissions during project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in construction estimating and cost planning for major capital projects.
• At least 8–10 years in leadership roles managing multi-disciplinary estimating teams and preparing client/authority submissions.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focusing on a large multipurpose venue project. The role involves working within a dynamic environment that values continuous improvement and strategic project delivery.
