About the Role

Star is seeking a Female Private English Tutor to provide full-time academic support to a student in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. This role focuses on delivering personalized English tuition aligned with the British curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4, preparing the student for GCSE or IGCSE examinations. The position requires a professional and adaptable educator capable of working discreetly within a private family environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality one-to-one English lessons.
• Teach English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4 levels.
• Support the student with reading, writing, analysis, grammar, vocabulary, and examination techniques.
• Prepare the student for relevant GCSE or IGCSE assessments.
• Assess progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
• Identify areas of weakness and create targeted intervention plans.
• Develop the student’s confidence, motivation, organization, and independent study skills.
• Set appropriate assignments, revision tasks, and extension work.
• Maintain accurate records of lesson content, progress, attainment, and future objectives.
• Communicate professionally with the family regarding academic development and priorities.
• Collaborate with other educators, tutors, schools, or educational advisers when required.
• Support continuity of learning during school holidays, examination periods, and family travel.
• Maintain a calm, respectful, and encouraging learning environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience as an English teacher with a strong understanding of the British curriculum and a proven record of supporting students through KS3 and KS4. This appointment requires a female teacher.

• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
• Experience teaching or tutoring students aged approximately 11–16.
• Familiarity with GCSE and/or IGCSE specifications.
• Clear understanding of assessment objectives and examination requirements.
• Ability to tailor lessons to an individual student’s learning style and academic profile.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• A warm, patient, and encouraging teaching manner.
• Confidence to work independently within a private household.
• Professional maturity, discretion, and sound judgment.
• Flexible and collaborative approach to working with the family and wider educational team.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time private teaching position based in Riyadh. The tutor will provide consistent academic support around the student’s school commitments, adapting to the family’s schedule and educational requirements. Adjustments to the timetable may occur during examination periods, school holidays, academic transitions, and family travel. Exact working hours, weekly schedules, and other employment arrangements will be discussed with the successful candidate. The successful applicant must be comfortable working in a private family environment and adapting to the requirements of a full-time residential or non-residential appointment, as applicable. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

Travel and Confidentiality

The position is primarily based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Occasional domestic or international travel may be required to maintain continuity of the student’s education, necessitating willingness to accompany the family and provide academic support while traveling. Due to the private nature of the appointment, the tutor must maintain complete confidentiality and discretion regarding all information related to the student, family, household, routines, travel arrangements, and any personal, professional, or financial matters encountered during the appointment. Disclosure, publication, photography, recording, or sharing of confidential information without prior written permission is prohibited.
