About the Role: Graduate Geophysicist

Khalid Ali Alturki & Sons Company (Alturki Holding) is seeking a Graduate Geophysicist to join the Fleet and Tahreez Exploration team in Riyadh. This is a full-time, entry-level position designed to develop foundational technical skills in geophysics for mineral exploration. The role involves working alongside senior geophysicists on the processing, modeling, and interpretation of geophysical datasets within live mineral exploration programs, with a focus on Fleet’s ExoSphere platform and end-to-end acquisition-to-inversion pipeline. Candidates should have 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the interpretation and application of geophysical techniques for subsurface data analysis in mineral exploration projects, under senior guidance.
  • Support the compilation of technical reports and presentations, developing clear communication of findings to various audiences.
  • Learn and apply best-practice data processing and interpretation workflows, building proficiency with standard tools and methods.
  • Assist in the development of geophysical inversions, including model building and uncertainty analysis, progressing towards independent delivery of robust subsurface representations.
  • Develop proficiency in processing, interpreting, and integrating multidisciplinary geophysical data (seismic, electromagnetic, gravity, and magnetic).
  • Adhere to established industry standards and internal processes for all geophysical activities.
  • Support data collection and survey design activities, understanding how site conditions and project requirements influence acquisition decisions.
  • Participate in customer exploration programs, applying developing geophysical expertise to real project needs.
  • Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and other technical disciplines, while adhering to company HSE requirements and safe working practices.
  • Engage with internal research on new techniques and technologies, and support their integration into daily workflows.
  • Maintain thorough, auditable, and well-organized documentation of all work.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Recent graduate (typically 0–2 years’ experience) with a strong academic background in geophysics for mineral exploration. Internships, thesis work, or project experience are valued.
  • Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is mandatory.
  • Foundational understanding of various geophysical techniques (*, seismic, electromagnetic, gravity, and magnetic) and their application to mineral exploration.
  • Developing proficiency in processing and interpreting geophysical data, with a willingness to build multidisciplinary integration skills.
  • Exposure to, or strong interest in, geophysical inversions and subsurface model building, with the aptitude to develop these into a core strength.
  • Working proficiency in Python for data analysis, with an eagerness to deepen these skills.
  • Emerging ability to author and deliver clear technical reports and presentations.
  • Genuine curiosity about mineral exploration geophysics, industry standards, and best practices, coupled with a strong drive to learn.

Career Development

This role offers a clear development pathway through mentorship and hands-on project work, enabling the successful candidate to progressively assume greater technical ownership and independence, with the goal of advancing to a Project Geophysicist role.
