About the Role

American Express Saudi Arabia is seeking a Health And Safety Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is designed for a professional with 5-10 years of experience in occupational health and safety management, focused on implementing and maintaining robust safety protocols within the organization.

Role Overview and Objectives

The primary objective of this role is to implement occupational health, safety, and environmental management systems that comply with SAMA safety and security Directives and ISO standards. The manager will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and controlling workplace hazards and risks in accordance with ISO 31000. A key focus is to ensure adherence to the OH&S requirements of Chapter 8 of the Saudi Labour Law (Royal decree (M/51)) and to prevent health and safety incidents impacting employees, customers, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and review the holistic Health and Safety policy to maintain a safe and secure workplace.
• Conduct annual fire warden training and ensure annual first aid training is completed.
• Manage and review business work, assessments, systems, alarms, and detector cleaning processes.
• Oversee reporting, policy development, and document management related to occupational health and safety.
• Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting.
• Manage the maintenance of essential safety equipment, including AEDs, first aid boxes, fire mattresses, and related systems.
• Provide training and advisory services on health and safety matters.
• Assess and report on SBC 801 safety requirements concerning AESA installations and commissioning.
• Lead emergency response efforts for safety or environmental incidents.

Required Qualifications and Certifications

• NEBOSH IGC or Level 6 Diploma, or an equivalent NEBOSH qualification.
• Completion of fire safety manager training.
• NEBOSH management certification.

Experience and Skills

• Proven experience (5-10 years) having previously held an Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) manager position within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in implementing health and safety, fire safety, and training programs.
• Ability to be punctual and assume full responsibility for Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
