The Role: HSE Manager

Assystem is seeking an HSE Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires over 10 years of experience and focuses on developing, overseeing, and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards across various project workstreams. The HSE Manager will play a critical role in promoting a proactive HSE culture and advising leadership on related risks and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee project HSE plans, procedures, KPIs, and compliance monitoring across applicable workstreams.
• Review contractor/consultant HSE submissions and monitor HSE performance, audits, and closeout actions.
• Lead HSE risk reviews, incident reporting, lessons learned, and emergency preparedness coordination.
• Advise Project Management leadership on HSE risks, legal requirements, and required corrective actions.
• Promote a proactive HSE culture and implement stop-work authority where unsafe conditions exist.

Quality and HSE Accountabilities

• Request necessary resources for the continuity and efficiency of the quality management system and increase commitment within the unit.
• Ensure all activities within the unit comply with laws, applicable national/international standards, and ethical rules.
• Carry out project activities in accordance with the Quality Management System and ensure rules are followed effectively.
• Work in accordance with the Quality Management System and contribute to its development and continuous improvement.
• Implement Assystem safety programs within the team and consistently adhere to Assystem HSE policies, procedures, and applicable legal requirements.
• Keep work areas organized and free of hazards; promptly report deviations, faults, hazards, and HSE incidents to the HSE Representative or line manager.
• Participate in operational controls to eliminate or mitigate newly identified risks and support incident investigations when required.
• Ensure own actions do not compromise personal safety or the safety of others; cooperate on health and safety matters and stop work if conditions are unsafe.
