About the Role

YO IT Consulting is seeking an experienced JavaScript/TypeScript Developer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on training and evaluating next-generation AI systems through practical software engineering tasks. We are looking for developers who can effectively analyze unfamiliar codebases, articulate engineering decisions, and resolve complex backend, full-stack, systems, or infrastructure-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on challenging software engineering tasks across backend, full-stack, infrastructure, and systems-related projects.
• Review, debug, improve, and clearly explain code within diverse technical environments.
• Design or evaluate practical solutions involving APIs, databases, services, integrations, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Identify and assess tradeoffs concerning scalability, maintainability, performance, reliability, security, and developer experience.
• Communicate technical reasoning clearly in writing, detailing solution effectiveness and considered alternatives.
• Collaborate with customer teams on technical reviews, implementation decisions, and problem-solving exercises.
• Adapt quickly to new codebases, frameworks, and evolving technical requirements.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in software engineering. While no prior AI experience is required, a strong foundation in software engineering principles is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate robust judgment in software engineering, maintain clear technical communication, and exhibit the ability to thoroughly evaluate code, architecture, tradeoffs, and implementation quality.

Technical Focus

This role involves working with a broad range of technical areas, including but not limited to backend development, full-stack solutions, system architecture, and infrastructure management. A solid understanding of APIs, database interactions, service development, system integrations, testing methodologies, and deployment workflows is expected.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be adept at reasoning through complex and unfamiliar codebases, capable of explaining intricate engineering decisions with clarity, and proficient in solving practical problems across various technical domains. A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies, frameworks, and project requirements is crucial for this position.
