Lead Airfield Engineer

About the Role

TYPSA Saudi Arabia is expanding its aviation team in Riyadh and is seeking a Lead Airfield Engineer. This full-time role involves leading airfield engineering and planning for a major international airport. The successful candidate will manage projects from master plan and capacity studies through to airfield design, review, and phasing within a live operational environment. The role requires close coordination with the airport operator, GACA, consultants, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and updates of the Airport Master Plan and Airport Layout Plan (ALP).
• Conduct capacity studies for runways, taxiways, aprons, terminals, and landside areas.
• Oversee the planning, coordination, and review of airfield designs, including geometry, pavements, drainage, AGL, and NAVAID.
• Review submissions from consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with ICAO and GACAR standards.
• Plan work phasing and safety protocols for an operating airfield.
• Coordinate effectively with GACA, other government agencies, consultants, and contractors.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and present recommendations to senior management.
• Evaluate alternatives and lead value engineering initiatives.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in airfield engineering and planning.
