About the Role

Maaden is seeking a Lead Specialist, Data Science & Analytics to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on leading the development, deployment, and scaling of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions across the organization.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Lead Specialist, Data Science & Analytics will serve as a technical leader, driving the implementation of Machine Learning, AI, and advanced analytics solutions. This role ensures that analytics products are developed, validated, industrialized, governed, and adopted effectively to deliver measurable value across mining, processing, operations, and enterprise functions. The specialist will analyze data, extract insights, and build predictive models to support informed decision-making and solve complex business challenges by integrating expertise in statistics, computer science, and business strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading end-to-end data science delivery, including the full lifecycle of ML/AI initiatives from problem framing to MLOps handover.
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining databases and data collection systems.
• Delivering scalable, production-grade models aligned with enterprise data governance and AI standards.
• Performing statistical analysis and applying data mining techniques to identify patterns and trends.
• Building predictive models and machine learning algorithms for forecasting.
• Creating data visualizations and reports for stakeholder communication.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Designing and maintaining reliable data pipelines and models in partnership with data engineering.
• Ensuring data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Driving experimentation, model versioning, automated retraining, and continuous improvement.
• Translating business needs into AI/Analytics solutions and establishing frameworks for accessibility and scalability.
• Engaging with stakeholders to identify value creation opportunities and convert them into actionable analytics use cases.
• Building value hypotheses, KPIs, and solution roadmaps in collaboration with leadership and business teams.

Industrializing AI/ML Models and Governance

This role involves partnering with data engineering, data platforms, and cloud/OT architecture teams to embed models into enterprise systems. It includes setting standards for production deployment, testing, monitoring, and lifecycle governance, ensuring seamless integration of models into enterprise platforms and control systems. A key focus is leveraging machine learning, optimization, and computer vision for performance, reliability, and sustainability improvements. The specialist will ensure compliance with Maaden’s Responsible AI, data quality, and data governance frameworks, promoting reproducibility, documentation, lineage tracking, and auditability across all data science assets, ensuring transparency and explainability.

Stakeholder Engagement and Value Realization

The Lead Specialist will communicate insights, results, risks, and recommendations to decision-makers through compelling narratives and visualizations. This includes tracking value realization, adoption metrics, and operational impact to ensure measurable benefits are achieved.

Qualifications and Experience

The role requires 5-10 years of experience in data science and analytics. Specific qualifications and skills will be assessed based on the ability to fulfill the responsibilities outlined above, including expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, data mining, predictive modeling, and MLOps.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role involves working collaboratively with various internal teams and stakeholders across the organization.
