Role Overview

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Lead Technical Assistant to join its team. This full-time position involves leading and coordinating the activities of technical assistants, in addition to providing essential support in specialized laboratory areas.

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve problems related to specimen procurement and the daily activities of technical assistants.
• Provide direct assistance in specialty areas of the laboratory, including but not limited to Parasitology, Cytogenetics, Microscopy, and Blood Transfusion Service.
• Receive daily schedules and effectively assign technical assistants to specific areas within the Hospital and clinics for specimen procurement.
• Assist in the training and development of new technical assistants.
• Oversee the distribution of laboratory reports to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Manage the inventory and requisition process for blood-collecting supplies.
• Perform all necessary blood collecting duties as required.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Medical Technology, Laboratory Technology, or another related discipline.

Experience and Professional Credentials

• A minimum of four (4) years of related experience is required for this Lead role, specifically as a Lead Technical Assistant at KFSH&RC or in an equivalent Grade 07 related position.
• For general Grade 07 positions, one (1) year of related experience is required with a Bachelor's degree, or two (2) years with an Associate Degree/Diploma.
• An average annual performance appraisal score of at least for the last four (4) years.
• Completion of fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education (CME).
• Current registration from the country of origin and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is mandatory.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic is required for both verbal and written communication.
• For non-Saudi applicants, completion of approved accreditation according to the country of origin is required.

Compliance and Quality Standards

The Lead Technical Assistant will ensure strict compliance with all section policies, procedures, and protocols. This role involves actively following the section's quality improvement program in accordance with the standards set by CBAHI, JCI, CAP, SFDA, and other relevant international accreditation agencies.
