Network Engineer

About the Role

Acuative Middle East is seeking a Network Engineer Tier 2 to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves advanced network troubleshooting, leading medium-scale projects, and acting as a primary escalation point for network operations. The successful candidate will independently resolve chronic performance issues across global LAN, WAN, and security infrastructure, and collaborate with Tier 3 engineers on design validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve critical and chronic network issues using packet capture, flow analysis, and protocol-level inspection.
• Lead Problem Management investigations to implement permanent solutions.
• Manage network projects from end-to-end, including site turn-ups, technology migrations, and major firmware upgrades, with comprehensive planning for implementation, testing, and rollback.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for Tier 1 and Network Operations Center (NOC) analysts.
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain accurate runbooks and documentation.
• Review low-level design specifications with Tier 3 engineers to ensure feasibility and operational supportability.
• Implement and manage network security, including firewall policy, site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) tuning.
• Author and execute network changes under ITIL v4 Change Management principles, ensuring proper impact assessment.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a network engineering role, with a focus on complex troubleshooting and project leadership. The role requires a strong understanding of network protocols, security infrastructure, and ITIL change management processes.
