The Pastry Commis Role

Boutique Group is seeking a Pastry Commis / Chocolatier / Baker to join The Red Palace team in Riyadh. This full-time position is suitable for individuals with 0-1 years of experience in the trade. The Pastry Commis is integral to the overall kitchen operation, requiring constant monitoring and ongoing training to ensure personal and professional standards reflect the instruction provided. The role involves actively seeking knowledge and assisting superiors in maintaining section standards and all pastry and bakery productions.

Key Operational Responsibilities

• Contribute to fostering a positive working environment.
• Provide feedback to the Executive Pastry Chef regarding pastry and bakery operations.
• Ensure pastry goods are securely stored and stock is replenished to minimize waste.
• Verify that all pastry equipment is operational and regularly cleaned.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards within the pastry and bakery sections, delegating tasks as needed.
• Complete mise en place for shifts in a timely manner for service.
• Actively pursue learning and proficiency within the assigned section.
• Manage stock rotation in fridges and maintain their tidiness.
• Execute duties as specified by the senior cook on the section.
• Uphold high standards of grooming and personal presentation for the team.
• Report any equipment failures to the Executive Pastry Chef and follow up on necessary actions.
• Ensure correct produce rotation in main fridges.

Food Quality and Safety Standards

• Ensure strict compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Adhere to local health regulations and industry best practices in all food handling and preparation.
