About the Role

QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role is for individuals who thrive in a results-oriented environment and are committed to driving lasting impact for clients. Role Overview and Impact

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead development teams in designing and delivering enterprise-grade software solutions. Your responsibilities will include shaping clients' technology strategies, mentoring their teams, and influencing C-level decisions across various industries. You will work hands-on to architect and deliver solutions, ensuring clients adopt best practices and achieve their strategic goals. Key Responsibilities

• Lead development teams in the design and delivery of enterprise-grade software solutions.
• Shape clients' technology strategies and mentor their teams on best practices.
• Influence C-level decisions and drive impact beyond product development.
• Define short- and long-term technology strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Establish metrics and KPIs to ensure the success of engineering-powered solutions.
• Lead the design and delivery of innovative technology solutions that transform businesses.
• Mentor client teams in adopting Agile mindsets and building developer capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Undergraduate or master’s degree, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in software development and architecture.
• Demonstrated track record of understanding business requirements and designing effective solutions.
• Experience leading in Agile teams, including coaching and modeling Agile mindsets.
• Experience writing unit tests with major frameworks and practicing test-driven development.
• Exceptional time management skills in a complex and autonomous work environment.

Technical Skills and Community Engagement

• Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience across the full application stack.
• Proficiency in some of the following languages/frameworks: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue, jQuery, Java, Spring, C#, .NET, ****, SQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, cloud-native databases, AWS, Azure, GCP, Jenkins, Docker, Circle CI, Travis.
• Experience with engineering practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous integration, building highly scalable applications, and application security.
• Active participation in the tech community (*, contributing to open-source projects, speaking at conferences, blogging).
• Experience working collaboratively with technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders.

Communication and Work Environment

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English are essential. The ability to adjust communication style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels is required.
