About the Role

Star is seeking an experienced and highly capable Private Computer Science Teacher to provide part-time, one-to-one academic support to a student in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves delivering personalized and engaging Computer Science tuition aligned with the student's academic curriculum, focusing on developing technical understanding, computational thinking, programming skills, and independent problem-solving. This is a discreet private appointment requiring an educator who combines strong technical expertise with excellent teaching ability, professionalism, and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality one-to-one Computer Science lessons.
  • Support the student's school curriculum and academic requirements.
  • Teach programming, algorithms, computational thinking, data representation, computer systems, networks, and other relevant topics.
  • Support homework, coursework, projects, and examination preparation.
  • Develop the student's programming and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and create targeted learning plans.
  • Prepare appropriate exercises, projects, revision activities, and extension work.
  • Monitor academic progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Develop the student's confidence, curiosity, and independent learning skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, attainment, and future objectives.
  • Communicate professionally with the family regarding academic progress and priorities.
  • Coordinate with the student's school or other educators where required.
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Computer Science educator with strong technical knowledge and the ability to make complex concepts clear, practical, and engaging.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to tailor lessons to an individual student's learning style and academic level.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and the ability to build a productive one-to-one relationship with the student.
  • Professional maturity, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Confidence to work independently within a private household.

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time private teaching position based in Riyadh. Teaching will primarily take place around the student's school commitments, with the schedule adapted according to academic requirements and the family's schedule. Occasional additional availability may be required during examination periods, school holidays, academic transition periods, or times requiring additional academic support. Exact working days, hours, and weekly arrangements will be discussed and agreed upon with the successful candidate. Occasional domestic or international travel may be required to maintain continuity of the student's education.

Due to the private nature of this appointment, the Teacher must maintain complete confidentiality and discretion regarding the student, family, household, schedules, travel arrangements, and any other private information encountered. Confidential information must not be disclosed, published, photographed, recorded, or shared without prior permission. Compensation for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience. Verifiable professional references and background checks are required as part of the appointment process.
