About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Project EHS Manager to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires an individual who is ARAMCO-approved and possesses a strong background in Oil and Gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all Environmental, Health, and Safety aspects of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Core EHS Management

  • Prepare all EHS-related documents, including EHS plans, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
  • Lead EHS meetings with clients and the project team, and report all EHS-related issues to the Head Office.
  • Provide EHS induction training to new workers and ensure regular toolbox talks are delivered by Engineers to foster EHS awareness.
  • Maintain all documentation related to EHS activities.
  • Conduct training programs on EHS topics for engineers and workers on-site, as well as HR-organized EHS training programs.
  • Prepare EHS Plans and Environment Management Plans.
  • Prepare Emergency Preparedness Plans and conduct Emergency Drills.

Site Safety and Compliance

  • Conduct daily EHS inspections for the assigned zone and perform risk assessments throughout the site, informing relevant personnel of high-risk areas.
  • Ensure appropriate safe work permits are obtained by Engineers/Supervisors from Clients/Main Contractors.
  • Ensure all personnel wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including helmets, EHS shoes, and coveralls.
  • Verify that equipment such as ladders and scaffoldings are in good working condition prior to use.
  • Ensure satisfactory health and hygiene conditions for workers, including the availability of water, rest areas, adequate lighting, and ventilation.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping on the project site to prevent incidents/accidents.
  • Conduct Job EHS Analysis on high-risk activities to minimize hazardous conditions and encourage EHS practices among workers and engineers.
  • Conduct investigations with engineers in case of minor or major incidents/accidents, and communicate results for future precautions.
  • Administer first-aid and/or seek medical assistance in case of worker injury.
  • Stop work if any unsafe practices are witnessed and promote a "don’t walk by" attitude with a commitment to action.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Work Permit System and coordinate Occupational Health & Welfare measures.

EHS System Implementation and Auditing

  • Establish, monitor, appraise, and coordinate an upgraded integrated health, safety & environment management system, conforming to ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards for construction projects.
  • Improve procedure manuals and internal audits based on the above standards.
  • Perform hazard identification and risk assessment for critical activities, ensuring method statements incorporate the findings.
  • Coordinate External EHS Audits & Third-Party Inspections of Equipment.
  • Prepare the conditions of contract on EHS for Sub-contractors.
  • Carry out project risk management audits monthly and system audits quarterly.
  • Provide EHS reports to the project head and IC Head to inform them of the current status of EHS performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety management.
  • Must be ARAMCO-approved.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Proficiency in establishing and maintaining EHS management systems compliant with ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards.

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Salary for this role will be discussed during the interview process.
