Senior Credit Cards Product and Portfolio Expert

About the Role

Coefficient Alliances & Ventures (Coefftalent) is seeking a Senior Credit Cards Product and Portfolio Expert for a contract position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role supports a global cards and payments firm engaged with a leading bank in Riyadh. The expert will work closely with the Head of Cards to develop and execute the bank’s cards strategy, focusing on increasing spend, engagement, and profitability across platinum and premium customer segments. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the cards strategy to enhance spend, retention, and profitability, with a focus on platinum and world portfolios.
• Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, including proposition design, features, benefits, and pricing.
• Improve portfolio performance metrics such as activation, spend per card, attrition, and profitability through targeted actions.
• Optimize P&L management by balancing interchange, rewards, fees, and cost structures.
• Design loyalty and rewards programs to drive daily spend and customer stickiness.
• Support sales teams with training, tools, and product knowledge to drive acquisition and usage.
• Recommend promotional campaigns and tactical plans to boost card performance.
• Monitor product performance post-rollout and resolve product or sales issues to ensure continuous improvement.
• Support the delivery of large client programs from initiation to benefit realization.
• Execute projects across different clients/businesses, identifying and mitigating risks, solving issues, and developing plans that align with agreed timescales, budgets, and quality criteria.

Digital and Customer Experience Focus

• Champion digital-first journeys for acquisition, servicing, rewards, and customer engagement.
• Enhance mobile and online servicing capabilities for seamless card management.
• Drive fintech, wallet, and lifestyle integrations to increase relevance and usage in the Saudi market.
• Utilize data and analytics to personalize offers, campaigns, and customer experiences.

Project and Change Management

• Lead large-scale, cross-functional projects and system migrations with structured governance.
• Oversee timely execution of new product launches, feature upgrades, and process improvements.
• Ensure alignment with SAMA regulations while delivering speed-to-market innovations.
• Introduce operational efficiencies to reduce turnaround times for onboarding and servicing.

Partnerships and Leadership

• Manage relationships with schemes and negotiate portfolio-enhancing partnerships.
• Develop merchant, fintech, and ecosystem partnerships to boost usage and add customer value.
• Build a network of strategic alliances to deliver differentiated offers and exclusive privileges.
• Act as the cards product and portfolio lead, supporting the Head of Cards on relevant topics and taking charge when required.
• Build internal cards expertise by mentoring and training team members.
• Foster a performance-driven culture with KPIs across acquisition, spend, and retention.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 12–15 years of experience in cards/retail banking, with ideally 5 years in leadership roles.
• Strong expertise in credit card product management and portfolio growth delivery.
• Proven background in digital banking and project management.
• Knowledge of the Saudi banking market, SAMA regulations, and payment trends.
