About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior Geospatial AI Specialist to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to advance geospatial applications, playing a key role in developing innovative solutions for national defense and security operations.

Core Responsibilities

The Senior Geospatial AI Specialist will be responsible for the end-to-end development and implementation of AI and ML models tailored for geospatial data. This includes automating data processing and analysis, researching and integrating advanced AI techniques such as computer vision and natural language processing into existing workflows, and designing algorithms to extract actionable insights from diverse geospatial datasets like satellite imagery and vector data.

• Develop and implement AI and ML models for geospatial data processing and analysis.
• Research and integrate advanced AI techniques into geospatial workflows.
• Design and manage algorithms for extracting insights from geospatial datasets.
• Ensure AI solutions adhere to relevant geospatial data standards and organizational requirements.
• Collaborate with GIS teams to identify AI-driven innovation opportunities.
• Work closely with stakeholders to align AI solutions with operational needs.
• Support the transition from the Current Operational Model (COM) to the Target Operational Model (TOM).

Professional Development and Collaboration

This role requires staying abreast of emerging trends in AI, ML, and geospatial technologies to recommend and adopt new tools and approaches. The specialist will also be expected to provide training and mentorship to staff on AI technologies and their application within geospatial intelligence. Close collaboration with stakeholders is essential to ensure AI solutions effectively meet mission objectives.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field. A professional certification in AI/ML or data science, such as TensorFlow Developer or AWS AI/ML, is required. Proven experience in developing and deploying AI models for geospatial data analysis is essential, alongside proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, or Java, with a focus on AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.

• Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
• Professional AI/ML or data science certification.
• Demonstrated track record in developing and deploying AI models for geospatial data.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or Java with AI/ML frameworks.

Geospatial Expertise

Extensive experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or a related field, with a specific focus on AI/ML applications, is necessary. A strong understanding of geospatial principles, tools, and technologies, including GIS software and spatial databases, is critical. Familiarity with geospatial data standards such as NSG, ISO, IHO, NATO STANAG, and OGC is also required.
