About the Opportunity

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Senior Landscape & Hardscape Specialist to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is for an experienced professional to lead and oversee landscape and hardscape design projects within the consultancy sector.

Role Purpose

The Senior Landscape & Hardscape Specialist will be responsible for the comprehensive management of design projects, from initial concept development through to detailed design and construction supervision. A key focus of this role involves interface management and site supervision for large-scale infrastructure projects, including roads, tunnels, bridges, and highways.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead landscape and hardscape design projects, encompassing concept development, detailed design, and construction supervision.
• Develop landscape and hardscape plans, drawings, and specifications in adherence to project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Conduct site assessments, environmental analyses, and feasibility studies to inform design decisions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and planners, to integrate landscape and hardscape designs into overall project plans.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior landscape architects and design team members.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address design requirements, resolve technical issues, and obtain necessary approvals.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications through site visits and inspections.
• Review and evaluate contractor submittals, RFIs, and proposed design changes related to landscape and hardscape elements.
• Prepare design presentations, reports, and documentation for client meetings and project stakeholders.
• Stay informed of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in landscape architecture and hardscape design.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of experience, specifically in interface management roles within the consultancy sector.
• Strong background in site supervision for projects such as roads, tunnels, bridges, and highways.
• Professional licensure or registration as a Landscape Architect is advantageous.
• Experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East region is preferred.
