About the Role: Senior Officer AML/CTF

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is seeking a Senior Officer AML/CTF to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring that all Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) activities within FAB KSA adhere to the authorized activities licensed by governing authorities and regulators. The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding the bank’s reputation by complying with applicable laws and regulations and applying international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage AML, CTF, and Counter-Proliferation Financing (CPF) frameworks, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and international best practices.
• Handle and treat alerts generated for sanctions (including Targeted Financial Sanctions (UN)) and AML systems.
• Process SAMANET / Tanfeeth requests and escalate any Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs)/Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).
• Review and approve high-risk client acceptance, including Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) relationships.
• Maintain complete documentation, supporting evidence, and clear rationale for decisions and case closures to ensure a robust audit trail and regulatory defensibility.
• Generate and monitor reports from the bank's AML system to detect unusual or potentially suspicious activity.
• Support periodic AML/CTF Management Information System (MIS) preparation by ensuring accuracy and completeness of information related to alerts/cases.

Policy and Compliance Adherence

• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Adhere to all relevant rules and regulations issued regarding the function and any aiding regulatory instructions.
• Ensure the Anti-Bribery & Corruption (AB&C) Policy & Framework are implemented and maintained in line with Group and local regulatory requirements.
• Provide advisory to business on AB&C matters and develop and deliver AB&C training to employees and relevant stakeholders.
• Handle the Anti-Commercial Concealment role, which falls under the AML function, to combat commercial concealment as required by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

Operational Support and Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet department requirements, policies, and quality standards.
• Support the investigations team in any potential bribery or corruption incident review and ensure appropriate reporting of any breaches to senior management.
• Assist the MLRO in implementing the bank’s strategy and business expansion, including the investigation of issues.
• Align SAMANET / Tanfeeth processes with back-office systems and perform record management of documents.
• Conduct frequent daily screenings against SAMA lists and implement SAMA standard controls, monitoring daily transactional activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 0-1 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated compliance with organizational values and ethics.
• Ability to contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes, and practices.

Work Environment and Expectations

This role requires maintaining strict confidentiality and privacy of customer information and sanctioned names. The Senior Officer AML/CTF will participate in AML-CTF activities to identify customer breaches, perform systems testing, and comply with regulations from SAMA, other applicable laws, and bank policies. The position also involves preparing and submitting MIS to the MLRO for capacity planning and performing any other duties as assigned by the line manager or senior management in support of departmental and organizational objectives.
