Project Context

This role is part of a talented Mace team delivering an ultra-luxury residential and hospitality project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The project involves significant civils and infrastructure scope, extensive landscape, and built assets. It is delivered rapidly through Mace as a hands-on project management consultant with FIDIC engineer responsibility, collaborating with renowned architects and global consultants.

The Role: Senior Risk Manager

Mace is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires over 10 years of experience and involves leading risk management efforts for a high-value, complex development project. The Senior Risk Manager will be instrumental in implementing and improving risk frameworks and ensuring robust risk mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion safety-first values, confidently applying stop-work authority, and promoting well-being standards.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviours aligned with organizational values, mentoring and coaching junior staff.
• Implement and continuously improve risk frameworks, registers, dashboards, and reporting processes.
• Facilitate risk workshops, reviews, and assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate risk controls into plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Ensure high-quality risk data, compliance with best practice, and proactive monitoring of changing risk profiles.
• Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant degree or diploma in risk management, engineering, or project management.
• Progressing toward chartership with a recognised professional body and ongoing professional development.
• Extensive years of risk leadership experience on major projects, ideally in KSA/Middle East.
• Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong expertise in risk tools, analytics, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Ability to assess and mitigate risks associated with logistics and supply chain constraints, material availability, and long-lead procurement.
• Understanding of access, transportation, and infrastructure readiness challenges.
• Proficiency in addressing environmental and climatic challenges.
• Capability to ensure risk reporting, compliance, and assurance requirements are consistently met.
• Strong understanding of regional client expectations, approval processes, and major development delivery challenges.
