SUB CONTRACTS ENGINEER

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Subcontracts Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting the management and administration of subcontracting activities for EPC projects. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company procedures, project schedules, quality standards, and budget objectives. The position covers subcontract formation, commercial evaluation, contract administration, progress monitoring, claims management, and closeout activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project requirements and develop subcontracting strategies aligned with project execution plans.
• Identify work packages suitable for subcontracting and coordinate with various teams to define subcontract scopes.
• Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQ) and Invitation to Bid (ITB) documents.
• Manage subcontract tendering processes, including technical and commercial bid evaluations, and prepare award recommendations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate subcontract agreements, ensuring compliance with main contract obligations and company policies.
• Administer subcontract variations, amendments, and change orders, and monitor subcontractor performance.
• Review subcontractor invoices and payment applications, ensuring proper documentation and record management.
• Evaluate variation orders and commercial impact assessments, identifying contractual risks and recommending mitigation measures.
• Manage subcontractor claims and disputes, assisting in preparing and negotiating settlement proposals.
• Track subcontractor deliverables, milestones, and progress, coordinating with site teams to verify work completion.
• Support schedule recovery plans for delayed subcontract activities and monitor subcontract costs and budget utilization.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco standards, project specifications, local regulations, and L&T subcontracting procedures.
• Manage subcontract closeout documentation, ensure settlement of final accounts, and obtain necessary warranties and certificates.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in subcontract management for EPC projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage subcontract formation, administration, and closeout activities.
• Experience with tendering, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation processes.
• Familiarity with commercial and claims management in a project environment.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements, including Saudi Aramco standards and local regulations.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and operates on a full-time basis within the Larsen & Toubro project framework. The position requires coordination with various internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls teams, as well as subcontractors.
