About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Technician - Neurodiagnostics to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position is crucial for supporting neurologists and other healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurological disorders. The role requires specialized knowledge of neurology, technical skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Patient Care and Support

• Conduct and assist with various neurological diagnostic tests and procedures, including electroencephalograms (EEG), nerve conduction studies, electromyograms (EMG), and autonomic testing, following established protocols.
• Prepare patients for neurological tests, explaining procedures and providing instructions to ensure their comfort and cooperation.
• Provide support to neurologists during diagnostic procedures, assisting with patient positioning, equipment setup, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth patient care.
• Assess patient educational needs and interact with relevant staff and departments to facilitate requirements.
• Educate patients and their families about neurological conditions, diagnostic tests, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications as prescribed by the neurologist.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families, ensuring they understand discharge instructions and follow-up care.

Collaboration and Documentation

• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
• Accurately record test results, patient information, and other relevant data in electronic medical records (EMR) systems for review by healthcare providers.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements regarding patient documentation and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Safety and Quality Assurance

• Ensure neurology equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and ready for use, following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of healthcare-associated infections.
• Implement safety measures to protect patients, staff, and visitors from accidents and injuries, identifying and addressing potential safety hazards.
• Identify and report defective or broken equipment, safety hazards, and environmental hazards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to patient complaints and concerns, initiating the nursing or administrative chain of command if unable to resolve patient issues.
• Assist the Head Nurse of the unit by accepting other work-related responsibilities as needed.

• Stay informed about advancements in neurology technology, diagnostic techniques, and treatment options through ongoing training and professional development activities.
• Seek opportunities for professional growth and skill development through workshops, seminars, and certifications.
